Caribbean Poker Codes and Tips

Poker has become world acclaimed lately, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back in reality a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years several variations on the earliest poker game have been created, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling 21 than old guard poker, in that the players bet against the dealer instead of each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no concealment or different types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the croupier saying "No more wagers." At that moment, both you and the casino and of course all of the different players acquire 5 cards. Once you have looked at your hand and the casino’s first card, you must either make a call wager or give up. The call wager’s value is akin to your original wager, indicating that the risks will have doubled. Surrendering means that your wager goes immediately to the dealer. After the bet is the face off. If the casino does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, plus a figure in accordance with the initial wager. If the bank does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the casino’s hand. The casino pony’s up cash even with your wager and set odds on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
