Concentrate on Annie Duke

Annie Duke might not have won her first World Series of Poker Bracelet until 2004 but she is one of the most powerful poker players around the ring matches at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. Annie’s long-awaited World Series of Poker bracelet came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.

While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker run amok after a big win at the tables, Annie goes home to be "mommy" to her four kids. She was born in NH and was raised into a family of card players. If you do not believe that, check out her brother, Howard Lederer, when he plays, who taught Annie the correct way to play poker.

However, Annie Duke is no small-potatoes girl and has earned her cut of challenging tables, which includes eliminating Howard along the way on numerous occasions.

Winning over 3 million dollars in tournament action, Annie became a consultant to both UltimateBet.com and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who wanted to build up his abilities and become a force in poker.

You may see Annie at the Bellagio, you will catch her on the tv and you might even play against her in a web poker match, but do not count on a simple win. Unless you are a champion-in-the-making, you won’t beat her. However, it would be fun to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
